January-March 9-Week Classes and Try-It Classes
Registration Saturday December 14
at 10:00 AM
All registration for new students and Try-Its is done through our payment and registration site. When registration opens, there will be a button above that links to the site.

Once registration opens, you may need to refresh this page for the button to appear and also refresh the store page before items are visible.
Sometimes, because of the high number of people trying to purchase spaces at the same time, the system becomes overwhelmed. You may experience problems with registering. If your registration is successful, you will get a confirmation email.

Occasionally, when the system is overwhelmed, it may oversell spaces (sell more spaces than we have). If that happens, we will immediately reach out to people with oversold spaces and refund the money. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

If you have questions about classes, please DO NOT call the studio. You will get a much faster response if you email alexclayeducation@gmail.com.

Current students have the opportunity to pay for the next session of their class before open enrollment.

The number of spaces in our classes is limited, and our classes are typically full. Demand has been extremely high. We may have few or no class spaces with open registration for a given session depending on how many current students decide to continue.

We will list below how many spots we'll have available for each class a few days before registration opens.

Sorry, we do not have a waitlist for new students. The only way to register is during open registration.
Single Day Try-It Classes
We are once again offering Try-It classes.

Information on our three-hour Try-It sessions is below the information on the nine-week classes.
About the Classes
Classes are informal and kept small (8 students max) to allow instructors to provide each student with individual attention as needed. Classes are 3 hours long, and extra studio time is included for all classes during Open Studio hours at no extra charge.
Open Studio, which is time when students in the nine-week classes can work independently in the studio, is held on Tuesdays from 4-10pm and Saturdays from 12-8pm.
Classes are open to students age 15 and up or to students 12 and up if a parent is also taking the class.
Class fees include instruction, Open Studio time, use of all studio glazing, and bisque and glaze firing. It does not include clay and tools, which can be purchased when you register for the class.

We do not allow make-up classes if a student misses a class. Unfortunately, we do not have the physical space in the class area to allow students to attend other sessions when they miss a class. Students who miss classes are encouraged to attend Open Studio time.
Classes with fewer than four students may be cancelled. If a class is cancelled, students would be able to join another class or could receive a full refund.
Inclement Weather Policy
Unless otherwise announced on our home page all classes will occur as scheduled. We will place any cancelation notices on our Facebook page and home page and will make every effort to notify students via email.
Please e-mail alexclayeducation@gmail.com with any questions.

TRY-IT CLASSES
12 PM - 3 PM

Upcoming Dates: TBA

This three-hour class is a great way to try pottery for the first time. Your instructor will review the entire process of making a piece of pottery from start to finish, and you'll have the opportunity to practice throwing several pieces on the wheel. The class is limited to 5 students to ensure everyone gets adequate instruction.
The mission of this class is to expose you to centering and pulling, two key steps to making pots on a wheel. You will be given as many balls of clay (1 to 1.5 pounds ea.) as you are capable of throwing. Most students find they produce between two and six clay forms in the forms of cylinders, cups, and bowls in the time limit of two hours. Typically, they will be very rough, so don’t be discouraged!
After cleaning up, you will be asked to choose two pieces to be fired. You won't be able to take anything home that day, but you will be able to select a glaze color that we will apply to your pieces. Volunteers at ACC will trim the pieces, glaze and fire, after which you will be notified when the finished pieces are ready for pickup. Pieces may take up to two months to be finished.
Make sure you wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes.

Students must be at least 15 years old.
Once you've registered, you will receive an email a few days before the class from alexclayeducation@gmail.com with additional instructions. Please check your junk/spam folders.

Fee - $120
